Mega Cruise Terminal
The latest cruise port facility added to the Port of Willemstad is the new mega-cruise terminal (opened in 1999), located at the Otrobanda seaside, west of the St. Anna bay harbour entrance. This dedicated facility consists of a T-shaped jetty that accommodates large cruise vessels over 70.000 GRT. The terminal can handle one mega-cruise ship at a time and overcomes the existing limitations of the St. Anna Bay for such vessels. The terminal offers world-class bunkering facilities and 9.000 m2 of terminal space, including a covered reception area, bus and taxi terminals.
The excellent bunkering facilities also make this pier attractive for other vessels calling only for bunkers. A facility to supply fresh water available, fresh water is supplied ex pipelines. Also ample deck-space is available for delivery of ship’s stores containers and opportunity for vessel to take on other items such as ship’s spare parts. This pier can also accommodate other types of vessels up to 200.000 GRT and larger ones on request.
